Iraqi Prime Minister Stresses Continual Responsibility for Security and Stability in Diyala


DIYALA: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, serving also as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, emphasized the ongoing commitment required for maintaining security and stability, highlighting the role of modern technology in enhancing security operations. His remarks came during a meeting with military and security leaders in Diyala Governorate, underscoring the need for vigilance and the integration of modern technologies such as cameras in security systems.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting was part of Al-Sudani’s visit to the governorate and included various military, security, and intelligence leaders. The Prime Minister received briefings on the current security and intelligence situation, reviewed security plans, and discussed the responsibilities in different areas with the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations and the Commander of Diyala Operations.

Al-Sudani reiterated the importance of continuous vigilance in security matters, stating that security and stability are p
erpetual responsibilities that must adapt to evolving challenges. He emphasized the importance of modern technology in expanding the capabilities of security forces. Additionally, Al-Sudani highlighted the necessity of addressing local issues proactively to prevent exploitation by adversaries and stressed the importance of fostering coexistence and tolerance among Diyala’s diverse communities.

The Prime Minister also pointed out the critical role of intelligence coordination in preempting security breaches and ensuring rapid response to maintain public safety. He linked economic development and the improvement of services and living conditions to the sustained efforts in security and stability. Al-Sudani called for respectful and dignified interactions with citizens by security forces, in line with legal and constitutional rights.
