Baghdad: The Director General of the Iraqi Republic Railways Company, Engineer Habib Mohammed Jabr, has confirmed that more than 80 train trips have been operated since the commencement of the Arba'een pilgrimage.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Ministry of Transport revealed that the company has designated 12 trains specifically to facilitate the transportation of pilgrims on the Karbala-Baghdad and Karbala-Basra routes, including return trips. Two emergency trains are also in operation, conducting 20 trips daily, with provisions for potential increases in this number.

In addition, the Director of the Karbala and Babylon Railway Department, Engineer Ahmed Abdul Hussein, highlighted the seamless and high-quality service provided in transporting pilgrims to and from the holy city of Karbala. He emphasized the availability of sufficient seating capacity, fully functional air conditioning systems, and efficient booking procedures that are accessible throughout the day, as per the schedule available on the Ministry of Transport's media website.
