Baghdad: The Iraqi Railways Company has announced the operation of three special trains next Wednesday, June 4, 2025, to transport sports fans from Baghdad Central Station to Basra Railway Station. These trains will pass through key southern regions including Hillah, Diwaniyah, Samawah, and Nasiriyah.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the company’s general manager, Maki Jaber Nasser, stated that the operation of these trains is in alignment with directives from the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi. The initiative aims to support the Iraqi national team as they prepare to face their South Korean counterparts at the Palm Trunk Stadium.
Advance bookings for these train journeys will open on Monday, June 2, 2025. The first train is scheduled to depart at 7:00 PM, followed by a second additional train at 11:00 PM, and a third reserve train at 12:00 AM.
After the match, to facilitate the return journey, the first additional train will leave Basra at 2:00 AM on Friday, with a second reser
ve train departing at 3:00 AM.
