Belgrade: The Ministry of Education recently concluded Iraq’s participation in the General Assembly and official meetings of the International School Sport Federation (ISF) in Belgrade, Serbia. The event saw the participation of 83 countries, marking a significant international presence for Iraqi school sports.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Yasser Al-Marsoumi, Director of the Sports and Scouting Activities Department at the Baghdad Al-Karkh First Education Directorate, represented Iraq at the meetings. The Assembly led to the election of the administrative body for the 2026-2030 term. Notably, the Asian School Sport Federation has committed to supporting the development of school sports in Iraq. Iraq’s inclusion in several technical committees was also confirmed, alongside meetings with various countries aimed at exchanging experiences and expanding cooperation in the school sports sector.
