Baghdad: PM Ali al-Zaidi confirmed on Saturday that Iraq's agreement with Trkiye regarding the transfer and loading of Iraqi crude oil via the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline to the port of Ceyhan is a strategic achievement.

According to Iraqi News Agency, PM Al-Zaidi stated, 'Today, Iraq and Trkiye achieved an important strategic milestone to ensure the uninterrupted flow of our oil exports and strengthen economic cooperation,' in a post on X. He announced the signing of an agreement between the two countries that will facilitate the transportation and loading of Iraqi crude oil through the Iraq-Trkiye Pipeline to the Port of Ceyhan, ensuring a minimum export capacity of 750,000 barrels per day.

PM Al-Zaidi also emphasized that Iraqi and Turkish companies are set to begin implementing the agreement. He noted that both governments are committed to moving forward with a carefully planned process to finalize a comprehensive framework agreement. This agreement will cover the oil, electricity, and water resources sectors and will include other areas of cooperation aimed at advancing shared interests and supporting development and stability.
