Baghdad: A tragic multi-vehicle collision on the Muthanna Airport Road in central Baghdad resulted in four deaths on Tuesday evening. The collision, attributed to the reckless driving of a 17-year-old who lacked a driver’s license, has drawn significant attention from local authorities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the General Directorate of Traffic reported the fatalities and highlighted the involvement of Director General of Traffic, Lieutenant General Uday al-Hassani. He personally oversaw the investigation at the accident site. The Directorate emphasized that excessive speed and lack of attention were the primary causes of the accident, which also resulted in damage to multiple vehicles.

Earlier reports from the Civil Defense Directorate confirmed the rescue of four injured individuals and the recovery of one body from the scene. The collision, occurring in the Karkh district of Baghdad, underscores the severe consequences of negligent driving practices.
