Baghdad: The Coordination Framework has confirmed that the Iraqi government is actively working to diversify its oil export sources from several countries. This strategic move is part of the government’s broader plan to navigate the challenging economic landscape.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Amer Al-Fayez, a leader in the Coordination Framework and head of the “Tasmeem” parliamentary bloc, emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the country’s economic difficulties. Al-Fayez noted that Iraq has substantial funds from oil export revenues in the United States, which are currently being received in the form of dollar payments. However, he acknowledged that these funds alone are not sufficient to overcome the financial crisis.

Al-Fayez further explained that the government is engaged in discussions with Iran to facilitate regular oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz. He described these talks as positive and highlighted the government’s plans to diversify export sources through neighboring countries such as Syria, Jordan, and Turkey. The plans include short-, medium-, and long-term strategies, focusing on the development and expansion of oil pipelines toward the Turkish and Syrian borders.
