Washington: Iraq’s oil exports to the United States saw a significant increase last week, as highlighted by the latest data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the EIA reported that the average US crude oil imports from ten major countries reached 5.8 million barrels per day, marking an increase of 661,000 barrels per day from the previous week, which recorded 5.139 million barrels per day. Among these imports, Iraqi oil exports to the US averaged 235,000 barrels per day, reflecting an increase of 150,000 barrels per day from the previous week’s average of 85,000 barrels per day.

The EIA noted that Canada was the leading source of oil imports to the United States last week, followed by Mexico, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia. The data also showed an upward trend in crude oil imports from countries such as Colombia, Venezuela, Libya, Brazil, and Ecuador.
