Baghdad: Iraq’s oil exports to the United States saw a notable decrease last week, as reported by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Sunday. The decline comes amidst an overall increase in US crude oil imports from other major countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the EIA detailed in a recent report that the average US imports of crude oil from ten major countries reached 5.599 million barrels per day last week. This figure represents an increase of 300 thousand barrels per day compared to the previous week’s total of 4.999 million barrels per day.

The data revealed that Iraq’s oil exports to the US amounted to 183 thousand barrels per day last week. This marks a decrease of 78 thousand barrels per day from the prior week’s exports, which stood at 216 thousand barrels per day. The EIA’s report also highlighted that the majority of America’s oil imports during this period were sourced from Canada, followed by Saudi Arabia, and Mexico, with additional imports from Libya.
