Washington: Iraq’s oil exports to the United States have experienced a significant decline, falling by more than 130,000 barrels per day last week.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that the drop amounted to a decrease of 137,000 barrels per day, with Iraq’s oil exports to the U.S. averaging 142,000 barrels per day, compared to the previous week’s average of 279,000 barrels per day.

The EIA’s latest statistics highlighted that U.S. crude oil imports from nine major suppliers averaged 5.911 million barrels per day, reflecting an increase of 322,000 barrels per day from the previous week’s average of 5.589 million barrels per day.

The report also detailed that Canada maintained its position as the top supplier of oil to the U.S., followed by Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia. Other imports were recorded from Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Libya, and Ecuador, while no crude oil was imported from Venezuela during this timeframe.
