Washington: Iraq’s oil exports to the United States have remarkably surpassed those of Saudi Arabia for the first time last week. The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced on Sunday that Iraq’s oil exports to the US exceeded 200,000 barrels per day (bpd) during this period, overtaking Saudi Arabia’s exports.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the EIA stated in a table that the average US crude oil imports last week from ten major countries reached 5.648 million bpd, showing a significant increase of 975,000 bpd compared to the previous week’s average of 4.673 million bpd.

The EIA further detailed that Iraqi oil exports to the US increased, reaching an average of 203,000 bpd. This figure surpassed Saudi Arabia’s oil exports to the US, which stood at 144,000 bpd. The report highlighted that the largest oil exports to the US last week originated from Canada, followed by Mexico, Brazil, and Venezuela.
