Baghdad: The judiciary sentenced a member of the ISIS terrorist group to life imprisonment after his identity was revealed by the Popular Mobilization Forces. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iraqi judiciary issued a life sentence against a member of the ISIS terrorist organization following the revelation of his identity by the Investigations Directorate of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF).

The PMF stated in a press release that the Investigations and Preventive Security Directorate of the General Directorate of Security and Discipline within the PMF played a crucial role in this sentencing. Their efforts led to the competent court issuing a life sentence after the accused's arrest and the uncovering of his identity and prior affiliations with ISIS.

The Directorate's detachments succeeded in security monitoring, employing technical efforts, and gathering intelligence to identify the convicted individual, known as "Abu Maria." He was associated with the "Nineveh Province" of the ISIS terrorist group.

Further investigations disclosed that the individual held an administrative role in the "Health Department" of the terrorist organization and had managed to hide his identity to blend into society. It was also discovered that he previously worked within the Iraqi Ministry of Health.

The Directorate of Investigations and Preventive Security was instrumental in ascertaining his true identity, unveiling his terrorist background, and documenting evidence of his activities within ISIS. Upon the completion of investigative and legal procedures, the accused was handed over to the judiciary.
