Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi emphasized today, Sunday, the importance of intellectual and dialogue-based events in discussing the issues and challenges facing Iraq.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the Speaker's Media Office stated in a statement that "Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi received today, Sunday, the Director of the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue, Abbas Radhi, who presented him with an official invitation to attend the Eighth Baghdad Dialogue Conference, scheduled to be held in Baghdad on August 21 and 22, 2026."
During the meeting, the Director of the Institute presented an overview of the preparations being made by the conference's preparatory committee and the efforts being made to ensure the success of its events, with the participation of a select group of political and academic figures and think tanks in Iraq.
According to the statement, the Speaker of Parliament praised "the efforts made by the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue in establishing a culture of dialogue and enhancing communication between different parties," stressing "the importance of intellectual and dialogue activities in discussing the issues and challenges facing Iraq and the region."
