Jerusalem: The Israeli army announced on Wednesday that its forces attacked a centrifuge production site and several Iranian weapons production sites last night. The army explained in a statement that more than 50 air force fighter jets, guided by precise intelligence from the Intelligence Branch, carried out a series of attacks on military targets in the Tehran area in recent hours.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement added: “As part of the intensive efforts to destroy Iran’s nuclear weapons development program, the centrifuge production site in Tehran was attacked. The goal was to allow the Iranian regime to expand the scope and rate of uranium enrichment for the purpose of developing nuclear weapons.”

The statement continued, emphasizing that “the Iranian regime is enriching uranium intended for the development of nuclear weapons. It should be noted that nuclear development for civilian uses does not require enrichment to these levels.” During the wave of attacks, several weapons production sites were also targeted.

The Israeli military further elaborated: “Among the weapons factories attacked was a site for producing raw materials and components needed to assemble surface-to-surface missiles that the Iranian regime has launched and continues to launch toward Israel. Sites producing systems and components for surface-to-air missiles designed to hit aircraft were also targeted.”

It added that “these targets were struck as part of the IDF’s efforts to harm the Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons program and missile manufacturing industry.”
