Sana’a: Israeli aircraft have renewed their assault on Yemen, targeting Sana’a International Airport and rendering it inoperable on the second day of an expansive military campaign. In addition to the airport, the airstrikes also hit central power stations and the Amran Cement Factory.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Israeli military claimed the airport was completely out of service, alleging that the Ansar Allah group, also known as the Houthis, used it to transport weapons. The Israeli forces also targeted power stations around Sana’a, which they claim the Houthis use, as well as the Amran Cement Factory for its alleged use in constructing tunnels.

The Ansar Allah Political Bureau responded by stating that the “Israeli and American aggression” would not go unanswered and pledged continued support for Gaza. They asserted that the attacks on ports, the airport, cement factories, and power plants aim to suffocate the Yemeni populace, labeling the actions as evidence of the “enemy’s impotence and bankruptcy.” Houthi media reported that the strikes damaged civilian property near the Dhahban power station and targeted the Attan area southwest of the capital.

Israel’s Channel 12 highlighted that the operation targeted ten strategic sites across Yemen, including the airport, energy facilities, and fuel tanks. Reports indicate that the Israeli military attacked various components of Sana’a Airport, including the passenger terminal, civilian aircraft, control tower, and runways.

According to Israeli media, the air assault lasted about an hour and involved dozens of fighter jets. Israel Hayom noted that the operation, named “Headstand,” concluded with Israeli aircraft safely returning after disabling the airport.
