Qabatiya: The Israeli army announced on Friday evening the launch of a security operation in the village of Qabatiya, following an attack that took place in Beit She’an area and later extended to Ein Harod and Afula. In an official statement, the army said that forces from the Paratroopers Brigade and the Duvdevan Unit of the Central Command, along with the Shin Bet security service, Border Police, and the Masada Unit of Israeli intelligence, began the operation earlier on Friday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the forces raided the home of the suspected attacker during the operation, while Shin Bet coordinators conducted field interrogations of suspects. The army added that the Shin Bet, in cooperation with Israeli army forces, is carrying out an engineering survey of the attacker’s home in preparation for its demolition.

It noted that the forces continue to scan additional locations in the village, working to arrest wanted individuals and locate suspected weapons. The statement also said that earlier in the day, Israeli Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir conducted a security assessment, while Central Command Commander Maj. Gen. Avi Balut carried out additional field evaluations alongside Gilead Division Commander Brig. Gen. Oren Simha in Beit She’an, and West Bank Division Commander Brig. Gen. Kobi Heller, who is present with Menashe Brigade forces in Qabatiya.
