Damascus: Katz’s entry into Syrian territory is a “hostile and provocative” step. The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the illegal entry of Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz into Syrian territory, deeming the move “hostile and provocative.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry stressed that “these hostile practices constitute a clear provocation and a violation of international law and the UN Charter.” It called on the international community to assume its legal and political responsibilities and take the necessary measures to compel the Israeli authorities to cease these repeated violations.

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, speaking from Mount Hermon inside Syria, asserted that “the Israeli army will not leave the security zone as long as there are ‘jihadist threats’ to Israel.”
