Tel aviv: Israeli media revealed that Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar informed his US counterpart, Marco Rubio, that Israel is preparing to take a step toward imposing sovereignty over the West Bank in the coming months.

According to National Iraqi News Agency,Sa’ar discussed the West Bank annexation issue, confirming that Israel is moving toward an announcement soon. Israel’s preparations for this step are being kept under the radar, amid internal consensus on the necessity of imposing sovereignty.

There is disagreement over whether the announcement will be made as an ideological step or in response to growing international efforts to recognize a Palestinian state.
