Erbil: The Joint Operations Command announced that F-16 fighter jets targeted two ISIS hideouts west of Nineveh.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated, “Continuing its offensive approach to pursuing and pressuring the remnants of the defeated ISIS gangs, and based on precise intelligence and a high-quality effort that lasted several days by the men of the Military Intelligence Directorate, who demonstrated remarkable courage, and in coordination, cooperation, and planning with the Targeting Cell at the Joint Operations Command, our heroic air force carried out airstrikes using F-16 fighter jets. These strikes targeted two hideouts containing four terrorist elements and a hidden vehicle in the desert west of Nineveh (near Hatra), on the border between the Nineveh and Salah al-Din governorates.”
The statement continued, “The strikes were direct and highly accurate, resulting in the deaths of the terrorists and the destruction of the two hideouts and all the logistical supplies, equipmen
t, ammunition, and other materials inside.”
The statement added, “We will provide further details later.”
The statement affirmed, “The successful operations of our heroic security forces continue, and we will persist in our intensive security efforts to eliminate ISIS terrorism wherever it may be.”
