Baghdad: The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iranian charg© d'affaires in Amman on Sunday to deliver a strongly worded protest note over the continued Iranian attacks on the Kingdom. The ministry's statement emphasized Jordan's demand for an immediate cessation of these provocations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the protest note delivered by the Jordanian ministry called for the Iranian charg© d'affaires to communicate a clear message to his government to halt the attacks. The statement underscored that the security of Jordan and its citizens is a non-negotiable priority and warned against further provocative actions from Iran.

The ministry reiterated its commitment to taking all necessary measures to safeguard Jordan's citizens, security, and sovereignty. This development follows a report from the Jordanian army indicating that air defense systems intercepted three out of four Iranian missiles targeting the country. The fourth missile reportedly landed in a sparsely populated area in southern Jordan.

Local media in Jordan reported that sirens were activated in several governorates to alert the public and instruct them on safety measures amid rising regional tensions. Concurrently, Israeli media noted explosions in the Eilat and Aqaba areas as air defenses engaged missiles originating from Iran. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated that the missile launches were a response to perceived threats to Iran's national security.
