Baghdad: A responsible military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army – stated that air defense systems detected six missiles launched from Iranian territory targeting the Kingdom today, and engaged them immediately upon their entry into Jordanian airspace.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the source explained that air defenses intercepted and shot down four missiles, while the other two landed in remote, uninhabited areas, causing no casualties or material damage.

The source added that Royal Engineering Corps teams moved to the sites where the two missiles landed and the debris resulting from the interception operations, and worked to secure the sites and handle the remnants according to established technical and security procedures.

The source emphasized that the Kingdom’s airspace is under continuous operational surveillance, and that the Armed Forces will deal with any aerial threat targeting Jordanian territory according to the established rules of engagement, in a manner that ensures the protection of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and the safety of its citizens.
