Sulaymaniyah: A journalist was injured in an armed attack in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the spokesman for the Kurdistan Region Security Service, Colonel Salam Abdul Khaliq, stated that the security service has launched an investigation into the shooting incident involving journalist and civil activist Hemin Mamand. The incident took place in the city of Sulaymaniyah.

Kurdish sources reported that Mamand was targeted by two unidentified individuals riding a motorcycle in the Aqari area of the city center. The journalist sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder and was transported to the hospital, where he was immediately taken into the operating room for treatment.
