Karbala: The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein is finalizing preparations for the 10th International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage. The Karbala Center for Studies and Research, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, announced the completion of all preparations for the event. The conference, organized in cooperation with the Academic Scientific Council for the Arba'een Pilgrimage and in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Planning/General Authority for Statistics, and Al-Karkh University of Science, will be held from August 7-8. It will feature a select group of researchers, academics, and experts from within Iraq and abroad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Salah Hassan, the center's administrative assistant, stated that the conference represents a specialized scientific platform for exchanging experiences and research perspectives related to the Arba'een Pilgrimage. It aims to enhance academic studies and present scientific insights that contribute to developing services and improving the management of this massive event according to the latest scientific methodologies.

He added that the conference seeks to revitalize scientific research by bringing together researchers and experts from various disciplines to present innovative ideas and initiatives addressing the spiritual, intellectual, and social dimensions of the Arba'een Pilgrimage. Discussions will also cover sustainability, crowd management, artificial intelligence, smart media, and the economic, social, and environmental impacts of the pilgrimage.

Salah Hassan further emphasized that the conference also focuses on consolidating the values of peaceful coexistence and strengthening communication between cultures and peoples. It highlights the universal humanitarian message of the Arba'een pilgrimage, which contributes to spreading a culture of dialogue and rejecting violence and extremism.

He noted that the conference will discuss eight main themes, including the spiritual and intellectual dimensions, the sociology of Arba'een, sustainability and resource management, future infrastructure, digital transformation, crowd management with artificial intelligence, smart media and international communications, as well as the economics of the Arba'een pilgrimage.
