Karbala: Karbala Governor Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi announced the arrest of a terrorist cell planning to target pilgrims. Al-Khattabi revealed that the Falcons Intelligence Cell successfully apprehended 22 individuals who were preparing to execute operations aimed at pilgrims and security forces during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the governor made the announcement during a press conference, emphasizing the significance of the arrests in ensuring the safety of those participating in the pilgrimage. The swift action by the Falcons Intelligence Cell was crucial in preventing potential attacks during a time when many gather in Karbala for religious observance.
