Zurbatiyah Border Crossing Sees Influx of Over One Million Iranian Pilgrims for Arbaeen Pilgrimage


Zurbatiyah: The Zurbatiyah border crossing in Wasit has recorded the entry of more than one million Iranian pilgrims who are arriving to perform the Arbaeen pilgrimage since the beginning of Safar.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Brigadier General Atef Naji, the director of the crossing, stated that the border has seen an influx of pilgrims, with a daily entry rate surpassing 250,000. The crossing is operating at full capacity, functioning around the clock to accommodate the significant number of pilgrims.



The Arbaeen pilgrimage is a key religious event that draws millions of participants each year, and the Zurbatiyah crossing plays a critical role in managing the entry of pilgrims from Iran. The crossing’s efforts to manage the flow of pilgrims underscore its importance in facilitating religious observances.
