Baghdad: The Karkh Court acquitted Abbas al-Yaqubi, the intelligence chief of the Baghdad Belt Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), of all charges against him after he was handed over to PMF security.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a special force from the Counter-Terrorism Service had arrested al-Yaqubi, the director of the intelligence department of the Baghdad Belt Operations Command of the PMF and head of the reconnaissance unit of the al-Nujaba Movement, two days prior in Dhi Qar. He was then transferred to the General Directorate of PMF Security to complete legal procedures against him in coordination with the Iraqi judiciary.
