KDP Highlights Dialogue as Key to Resolving Salary Disputes with Baghdad


Erbil: The Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) convened to deliberate on the ongoing disputes with the federal government concerning employee salaries and financial entitlements.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the office of KDP’s President Masoud Barzani outlined the discussions focused on the unresolved issues with Baghdad. The primary concerns are the disbursement of salaries, the budget, and financial dues to the Kurdistan Region. During the meeting, necessary positions were agreed upon to address these financial matters.

The statement also mentioned the return of Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein to the Kurdistan Region. His return followed a series of meetings with Iraqi political parties in Baghdad aimed at tackling the salary payments and financial allocations to the region.

The KDP emphasized its steadfast belief that dialogue remains the optimal approach. The statement concluded with a call for mutual understanding as a means to resolve all outsta
nding issues.
