Khadamat Alliance Extends Invitation to Patriarch Mar Paul III Nona for Dhi Qar Visit to Promote Unity

Baghdad: Khadamat Alliance invited Patriarch Mar Paul III Nona on Thursday to visit Dhi Qar to foster coexistence and national unity.

According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement from Khadamat detailed that a delegation led by Qahtan al-Jubouri, Deputy Head of the Political Bureau, including Hussam al-Rubaie, a Political Bureau member and the alliance’s official spokesperson, met with Patriarch Mar Paul III Nona. The meeting was also attended by MP Ola Awda al-Nashi, a member of the Khadamat parliamentary bloc, Dhi Qar Provincial Council Chairman Izza Awda al-Nashi, and the accompanying delegation.

The delegation offered an invitation to the Patriarch to visit Dhi Qar Governorate as part of an initiative supported by the alliance. Qahtan al-Jubouri conveyed the greetings of Khadamat Alliance head Shibl al-Zaidi to the Patriarch, emphasizing the visit’s role in reinforcing social peace and portraying Iraq as a land of coexistence and diversity.

MP Ola Awda al-Nashi expressed that the people of the governorate are prepared to welcome the Patriarch, highlighting that the visit would symbolize the security, stability, and national unity present in Iraq.

Dhi Qar Provincial Council Chairman Izza Awda al-Nashi remarked that the visit would be a pivotal step toward making Dhi Qar a starting point for the return of expatriate Iraqi Christians to their cities, acknowledging them as essential partners in the homeland.
