King Harald V of Norway Dies at Age 89


Oslo: The Norwegian Royal Court announced the death of King Harald V on Friday at the age of 89.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the official statement issued by the Norwegian Royal Palace detailed that the King passed away peacefully at Oslo University Hospital (Rikshospitalet) at 6:35 a.m. local time. His health had declined due to complications from hemolytic anemia and a severe bacterial infection in the bloodstream.



King Harald V’s passing marks the end of his 35-year reign. His son, Crown Prince Haakon, now ascends the throne as King Haakon VIII, continuing the lineage of the Norwegian monarchy.
