Washington:US imports of Iraqi crude oil have remained at zero for the fifth consecutive week, as revealed by recent data.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the latest figures from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) indicated that the average US crude oil imports from the top 10 supplier countries reached 6.127 million barrels per day last week. This marks an increase of 827,000 barrels per day compared to the 5.3 million barrels per day recorded the previous week.
Canada emerged as the leading supplier of crude oil to the United States, followed by Venezuela, Colombia, and Mexico. Guyana took the fifth position, with Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Argentina, and Nigeria following in sequence.
Despite the overall rise in US oil imports, there were no shipments of Iraqi crude oil recorded during the reviewed week. The United States continues to be the world’s largest oil consumer, with a daily consumption of approximately 20 million barrels of oil.
