Kirkuk: The Kirkuk Criminal Investigation Directorate announced the arrest of a gang involved in stealing doors and windows in the Hawija district. The Kirkuk Police Command stated in a press release that units from the Kirkuk Criminal Investigation Department solved a series of burglaries targeting homes in the Hawija district and arrested the perpetrators within just 24 hours of receiving the report.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation was executed based on direct instructions from the Kirkuk Police Chief, Major General Fatah Mahmoud Yassin al-Khafaji, under the field supervision of the Director of the Kirkuk Anti-Crime Department, Brigadier General Ammar Farhan Mazloum. This followed reports of unknown individuals stealing doors, windows, and building materials from homes in the district.

Upon receiving the information, a specialized team was formed, headed by an officer from the Hawija Anti-Crime Division. The team mobilized its efforts in searching, investigating, and tracking, relying on technical expertise by reviewing and analyzing the footage from surveillance cameras surrounding the crime scenes, which led to the precise identification of the perpetrators.

The security operation resulted in the arrest of the suspects in a swift operation carried out in less than 24 hours. During the initial investigation, they confessed to carrying out several thefts in various areas of the district, taking advantage of the absence of the homeowners.
