Kirkuk University Media Council Discusses New Initiatives for Academic Year


Kirkuk: The College of Media Council at Kirkuk University convened its inaugural meeting of the new academic year under the leadership of Dean Dr. Maad Assi Ali. The assembly, attended by council members, focused on various academic and administrative issues slated for discussion.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting initiated with a dialogue on the preparations required for the commencement of the academic year. Emphasis was placed on ensuring the readiness of academic, administrative, and technical provisions to facilitate a seamless educational process and create a conducive environment for both students and faculty.



In a bid to adapt to the evolving media landscape, the council deliberated on a proposal to inaugurate a Department of Digital Media and Artificial Intelligence for the next academic year. This initiative aims to align with the changing demands of the job market and the ongoing digital transformations within the media sector.



Additionally, the council explored the idea of launching a specialized scientific journal dedicated to media studies and artificial intelligence. This journal is intended to bolster scientific research, stimulate specialized academic contributions, and provide new opportunities for researchers in the domains of digital media and artificial intelligence applications.



Dean Dr. Maad Assi Ali highlighted the significance of ongoing efforts to advance the college’s academic and scientific development. He stressed the necessity of improving the quality of educational and research outputs to meet the scientific and technological advancements and adhere to the directives set forth by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
