Baghdad: Independent Kurdish politician, Mahmoud Othman, confirmed that the Kurdish position in the Kurdistan Region regarding upcoming political alliances, with the approach of the parliamentary elections, has not yet been announced.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Othman stated that while the Kurds support the work of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, forming a future alliance with him is considered premature. This caution is due to the possibility of political changes that could occur at any moment.

Othman elaborated that the Coordination Framework plans to enter into separate lists, with each political bloc aiming to secure political and factional gains, potentially at the expense of the Iraqi populace. He further predicted that the current political landscape and existing political figures are unlikely to change in the upcoming elections, particularly following the Sadrist movement’s decision to withdraw from candidacy.
