Kurdistan Democratic Party Condemns Drone Attacks on Prime Minister’s Office

Erbil: The Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has condemned the targeting of the Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister’s office and the residence of the director of the Parastin News Agency by two drones, labeling it as an act of sabotage that serves no one’s interest.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Bureau issued a statement denouncing the attack, stating, “We strongly condemn this act of sabotage. We believe that such actions do not serve the interests of any party, but rather pose a threat to the development of relations and further complicate the situation.” The statement called upon the federal government to take a serious stance on the issue, urging them to prevent future attacks and confront such aggressions promptly and effectively.

The Counter-Terrorism Service in the Kurdistan Region reported earlier that the private office of Regional Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, along with the residence of the director of the Parastin News Agency in the Pirmam district of Erbil Governorate, were targeted by two explosive-laden drones launched from the Iranian side of the border. Fortunately, the attack did not result in any casualties.

Masrour Barzani himself took to X to express his condemnation of the incident, describing the attacks as “reckless and unacceptable.” He further labeled the event as a “dangerous escalation and a direct threat to the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region.”
