Sulaymaniyah: The Kurdistan Region Presidency stressed the importance of the rule of law, protecting Sulaymaniyah’s security and safety, and protecting citizens’ homes. In a statement, the Presidency emphasized the need to uphold “the rule of law, protecting the city’s security and stability, and preserving the lives and property of citizens.” The statement further underscored that “all disputes and problems must be resolved within the framework of the law and away from violence.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidency expressed its “condolences to the families and relatives of the victims, expressing its sympathy for their loss, and wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded.” This statement comes in the wake of recent clashes in Sulaymaniyah that erupted following the arrest of the head of the People’s Front Party, Lahur Sheikh Jangi, and his brothers, Polad and Aso. Arrest warrants had been issued against them, leading to a raid on Lahur Sheikh Jangi’s headquarters in the Lalzar Hotel, located in the Sarchinar neighborhood in the center of Sulaymaniyah.
