Erbil: Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received on Tuesday the new Commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM), Admiral Brad Cropper, and his accompanying delegation. A statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government stated that at the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister congratulated Admiral Brad Cropper on his assumption of command of US Central Command, and General Kevin Lampard, who attended the meeting, on his assumption of command of coalition forces in Iraq and Syria, wishing them success in their missions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister reiterated the Kurdistan Region’s gratitude and appreciation for the continued US support and assistance. The meeting emphasized the importance of continued support for the Peshmerga forces, as well as discussing the latest security developments in Iraq and the region as a whole.

For his part, the Commander of US Central Command highlighted the importance of the Kurdistan Region as an ally and partner of the United States in the region, affirming his country’s unwavering support for the region’s security and stability. In another context of the meeting, the two sides discussed the threats still posed by ISIS terrorists, in addition to reviewing the latest developments in Syria.
