Baghdad: The Iraqi national football team dropped one spot to rank 58th in the latest FIFA World Ranking for November. As a result, Iraq will not face the Democratic Republic of Congo (56th) in the global playoff qualifiers for the World Cup, within a group that includes Bolivia, Jamaica, Suriname, and New Caledonia.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Spain maintained its position at the top of the global ranking, followed by Argentina in second place, while France and England remained third and fourth respectively. The top ten saw Brazil rise to fifth place and Italy fall three spots to 12th, while Germany climbed to ninth behind Belgium, and Croatia moved up to tenth.

At the Arab level, Morocco continued to lead Arab and African teams, ranking 11th globally. Egypt followed in 34th place, then Algeria at 35th, and Tunisia which advanced to 40th. Qatar ranked 51st, while Saudi Arabia placed 60th.
