Nabatieh: Lebanese President Joseph Aoun made a surprise visit to Nabatieh in southern Lebanon on Saturday, amid residents’ fears of escalating Israeli airstrikes and bombings, particularly after the massive demolitions in the Ali al-Taher Heights and the town of Mansouri, and threats from Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz. Aoun toured Nabatieh with a military delegation, inspecting the damage and listening to residents’ complaints.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Aoun affirmed that there are no negotiations with Israel at present. He also stressed that withdrawal, the return of prisoners and displaced persons to the south, and reconstruction are national priorities that the government is committed to implementing.
