Baghdad: Lieutenant General Mohammed Qasim al-Fahd officially assumed his duties as Commander of the Federal Police Forces. The Ministry of Interior announced in a press release that a ceremony was held at the Federal Police Forces Command headquarters. The event was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Federal Security Affairs, Lieutenant General Simko Nazim Amin, and several division commanders, officers, and directors of directorates, commands, and departments, marking Lieutenant General Mohammed Qasim al-Fahd’s assumption of the position. He succeeds Lieutenant General Saad Khalaf Badr.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Lieutenant General al-Fahd expressed pride in taking on this national responsibility. He emphasized that the upcoming phase will focus on continuing the process of building and development, enhancing institutional and field capabilities, and strengthening the values of professionalism, discipline, and teamwork. These efforts align with the directives of the Ministry of Interior and the aspirations of the Iraqi people.

Lieutenant General al-Fahd praised the significant role of Lieutenant General Saad Khalaf Badr during his tenure as Commander of the Federal Police Forces. He highlighted the qualitative achievements made under Badr’s leadership, which contributed to enhancing the readiness of this long-established security institution and developing its capabilities in various fields.
