Baghdad: Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, has extended his congratulations to the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) on the occasion of its 80th anniversary, addressing a heartfelt message to the party’s president, Masoud Barzani.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Maliki’s message conveyed warm wishes to Barzani and the party’s leadership, cadres, members, and supporters, celebrating their decades-long journey. He acknowledged the KDP’s significant role in the historical struggle against oppressive regimes, highlighting the sacrifices made for the Kurdish people’s rights and against repressive policies.
Maliki also reflected on the collective sacrifices of the Iraqi people from various communities in their fight against dictatorship and their efforts to establish a democratic and federal Iraq. He emphasized the importance of these historical milestones as a foundation to enhance national unity, stability, and the development of a state that guarantees justice and equality for all citizens.
In his message, Maliki expressed hopes for continued security, stability, and prosperity for Iraq and its people, while wishing the KDP and its supporters a happy new year.
