Baghdad:A man has been sentenced to six years in prison for stealing over 25 million Iraqi dinars from a Christian woman by exploiting her trust, According to Baghdad Al-Karkh Police Command.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Karkh Criminal Court’s Second Panel issued the sentence after the man, who had been working on renovating the woman’s house, deceived her by pretending to accompany her to church. On the second occasion, he asked her to go ahead, using her absence to enter her house, steal the money, and escape.

The Karkh Anti-Crime Directorate/Al-Dora Division identified and arrested the suspect within 48 hours through specialized investigative and technical efforts. The stolen amount was fully recovered, and his confessions were recorded before he was referred to the judiciary.
