Erbil:Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, to discuss the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting involved an exchange of views on the latest developments in Iraq and the broader region. Discussions included the importance of strengthening cooperation and joint coordination among Iraqi political forces to support the federal government. This cooperation aims to enhance public revenues, address challenges, and ensure equitable services for all citizens.

An additional focus of the discussions was the constitutional status of the Kurdistan Region and its financial entitlements. Barzani highlighted the necessity of determining the Region’s share of the 2027 federal budget based on a fair calculation, specifically 14% of the total population, as per the officially ratified results of the 2024 general population census.
