Masrour Barzani and US Ambassador Discuss Formation of New Kurdistan Cabinet.


Erbil: The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, met with US Ambassador Alina Romanowski today to discuss key political developments. The discussions primarily focused on the procedures associated with forming a new ministerial cabinet for the regional government.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, The media office of the Prime Minister issued a statement highlighting the mutual agreement between Barzani and Romanowski on the significance of political party consensus. They emphasized the need to expedite the formation of the new government to ensure the continuation of its functions and the implementation of service projects that cater to the diverse needs of all citizens and components of the Kurdistan Region.

The statement further detailed Barzani’s insistence that the government formation should reflect the votes and electoral entitlements of the participating political parties, aiming for a government that is comprehensive, strong, and unified.

In addition to inte
rnal political matters, the conversation also touched upon regional stability. The statement noted that both parties acknowledged the ongoing tensions and conflicts in the Middle East and underscored the importance of sustaining security and stability. This, they agreed, would help shield Iraq and the Kurdistan Region from the adverse effects of such crises and conflicts.
