KARBALA: A mass demonstration took place in Karbala Governorate on Friday afternoon, rallying in support of the supreme religious authority represented by Sayyid Ali al-Sistani. The demonstration also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples and condemned the Zionist actions against them.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the demonstration was organized by the Al-Bashaer Youth Movement and saw participation from a diverse group of individuals, including members of the House of Representatives, clerics, academics, tribal leaders, and community figures. The protest commenced near the courthouse intersection and proceeded towards Al-Abbas Street, encompassing the area between the two holy shrines in the city of Karbala.

The demonstration highlighted the significant role of religious authority in Iraq and the region, as well as the ongoing support for Palestinian and Lebanese resistance. Participants voiced their opposition to the violence and expressed their commitment to standing
with those affected by the conflict.
