Al-Amara: The Maysan Police Command announced the arrest of two suspects accused of premeditated murder, after they had disappeared for more than ten years. The arrest occurred in Al-Karama district in the center of Al-Amara.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Maysan Police Command, a copy of which was received by the agency, stated: “A force from Al-Karama Police Department, based on accurate intelligence information from its own sources, was able to locate the suspects. After analyzing the available data and information about the suspects, a special operation was carried out, during which a tight security cordon was imposed and the area was stormed, resulting in their arrest.”

The statement added: “The suspects were taken to the security detention center to complete the necessary legal procedures, in preparation for their presentation to the competent judicial authorities.”
