Maysan: The Maysan Refinery administration announced on Sunday the adoption of a modern system to measure the quantities of crude oil received by the refinery.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the administration stated that the system is one of the internationally recognized systems used to monitor the quantities of oil entering oil facilities. Ali Taher, head of the Metering Division at the refinery, emphasized that 'the refinery has adopted a modern and integrated system to measure the quantities of crude oil received from the Maysan Oil Company, with the aim of accurately monitoring and documenting the quantities entering the refinery.'

Taher confirmed, 'The measurement and metering system is one of the internationally recognized systems used to monitor the quantities of oil entering oil facilities.' He added that the system includes crude oil meters and pressure and temperature transmitters, as well as a laboratory equipped with advanced equipment and technologies.

"The meters used are mass flow meters, which are among the most accurate types currently in use. The system operates around the clock to measure crude oil quantities, with the ability to generate readings and reports according to the required hours and time periods,' Taher stated. He explained that the daily quantity report is automatically generated by the electronic control room, without human intervention in the reporting process.

Taher also mentioned, 'The control room operates using the ASYCUDA system in conjunction with the PLC system, with daily reconciliation between the quantities recorded in the Maysan Refinery system and those recorded by the Maysan Oil Company.' He added that the reconciliation process takes place between the shift supervisors at both locations, and the report is signed by both parties, ensuring that the quantities received are accurately documented on a daily basis.
