Baghdad: The Military Intelligence Directorate announced on Friday the arrest of five terrorists in Diyala, Kirkuk, and Nineveh.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrests were made following directives from the Director of Military Intelligence, focusing on the capture and arrest of individuals wanted on terrorism charges. The operations were carried out based on precise intelligence by the detachments of the Military Intelligence Directorate within the intelligence and security departments of the 1st, 8th, and 14th Infantry Divisions, along with the 23rd Commando Division.

The statement from the directorate further detailed that the accused individuals were already subjects of previous arrest warrants under Article (1/4) of the Counter-Terrorism Law. Following their arrests, the individuals were handed over to competent authorities for the completion of necessary legal procedures.
