Baghdad:The Mine Affairs Directorate at the Ministry of Environment has announced a joint collaboration with Al-Nahrain University aimed at enhancing field surveys through the use of drones.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Director-General Ihsan Jaafar Ahmed stated that the Directorate is collaborating with Al-Nahrain University, particularly its College of Engineering, and the departments of Artificial Intelligence and Drones. This collaboration is focused on implementing a joint initiative that utilizes modern technology to conduct field surveys using unmanned aerial vehicles.

The initiative is designed to update and refine the Directorate’s database with precise information on the locations of unexploded ordnance and remnants of war. This advancement is expected to improve operational mechanisms and increase the efficiency of survey operations.
