Wasit:The Wasit Police Command announced the arrest of 12 individuals suspected of participating in usurious activities during recent security operations conducted throughout the province.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the police operations were part of ongoing efforts to crack down on activities violating the law. These operations were conducted under the direct instructions of Wasit Police Chief Major General Mohammed Mohammed Saleh Al-Huwaidi. The Wasit Organized Crime Directorate, in collaboration with various police departments, led the security operations targeting those involved in usurious practices.

The arrests were made following extensive field efforts that included surveillance, investigation, and intelligence gathering. The Wasit Police Command confirmed that legal actions have been initiated against the suspects in accordance with Article 68 of 1997.
