Baghdad:Minister of Defense Nayef Mukayif al-Shammari has expressed his deepest condolences to the Iraqi Army Command and the personnel of the Ministry of Defense following the death of Lieutenant General Jassim Mohammed Alwan al-Tamimi, the Inspector General of the Military. Al-Tamimi passed away on Thursday evening after battling a terminal illness. The Minister prayed for divine mercy and forgiveness for the deceased.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Defense released a statement in which Minister al-Shammari expressed his profound sorrow over the loss. He remembered Lieutenant General al-Tamimi’s military career and his dedicated service to Iraq and its military institution. The Minister further prayed for the departed to be granted a place in Paradise and for patience and solace to be bestowed upon his family, relatives, and fellow soldiers.
